How can you help future generations, while honoring your past and ensuring your legacy is remembered?

Ronald Naulty
Ronald Naulty, Jan. '51

Ronald Naulty, member of Class of January 1951, experienced a loss at a young age, when his father passed away. This event forced Ron’s mother to reflect on how best she could support her family. As she needed to go back to work, she found in Girard College a residential school where her son could be supported.

Ron entered Girard in 1940 spending most of his school years at Girard. While he was permitted to visit his mother, as she lived close, during specific times over the weekend Girard was where he spent most of his time. Girard became a place of lasting memories and meaningful friendships. As a high school student Ron was active in planning “Activity Night” and was an exhibitor for the World Hobby Exposition. He served as a sergeant in Girard’s Battalion and took carpentry classes in addition to his other academic subjects.

As Ron grew older and made plans to ensure his family was supported after his passing, he wanted to help provide for his fellow Girardians. Ron listed in his will a gift for Girard College.

In honoring this request, Ron’s family reached out to Girard to learn about the various ways this monetary support could benefit our scholars. Givens Ron’s interests and the family’s passion for STEM, Ron’s last gift to Girard will help support the creation of a new 21st Century STEM Center.

You can honor the place called home by so many Girardians and leave your own legacy. If you are interested in growing your stewardship footprint at Girard College, please contact the Office of Advancement to begin this conversation. If you have already made plans to bequeath a gift to Girard College, please reach out to the Office of Advancement to ensure a record of this future contribution.
